Walk A Thon a huge success
A huge thanks to all of those who walked, donated and organized our school's walk a thon. We raised over $5,000 for technology for our school. We would like to thank all of our business sponsors who helped us out!

Arts Night
Our Arts Night last night was a great success. A huge thank you to all of the teachers and support staff who did such a wonderful job putting it together and for all of the parents and students that came out in support. The PTA earned over $650 with the bake sale, art for sale, and pizza dinner.

March PTA Meeting
Please join us for our March PTA Meeting. It will be held on March 13, 2013, at 4:30 in the library. The focus will be on iPads and Chromebooks, and how they can benefit our school.
Science Fair
New this year, all students will be required to participate in the school science fair. It will be held over 3 days and will be judged on the criterion of an experiment based project that follows the steps of the scientific method. Please support your students in getting their projects done.

Many resources are available online or you can contact your child's teacher for help.

Book Fair

PTA Volunteers Needed
We are pleading, and begging for additional help for our PTA. Many of our parents have come forward to help with individual events, but we really, really need some volunteers for our executive board. It is a two-year commitment, and you can make it as busy as you want, but normally it only takes about an hour or two a week of commitment--sometimes more, sometimes less. Much of the work you'll do can be done at home. PLEASE consider contacting the office and offering to help. Our PTA is a vital element in our efforts to continue to do great things at North!

Grand Opening Celebration
We would like to thank all of those who came out in support of our Patriot Day Celebration and the Grand Opening of our STEAM school. It was a wonderful evening. The PTA would like to thank the faculty and staff at the school for such a wonderful evening! Our teachers are the best!!

Yearbooks
Yearbooks are still for sale for $12. We only have 75 left and they will be sold on a first come first serve basis. You may pay for them in the office until they are sold out. Get yours early!!

Just a reminder to keep filling out your kite charts and keep the kids reading. We really appreciate the Lion's club for all they do for our schools.

2011-2012
We are in desperate need of volunteers for the upcoming school year. We need to fill board positions, sub committee positions and need volunteers for various activities. If you are interested in helping out with any of these positions please contact Cori at 865-9662. We will take any amount of time you are able to give to help us out. Without volunteers we may have to cut some of our most popular programs.

T-Shirts & Hoody's
We still have t-shirts in every style, color and size for purchase. These make great Christmas gifts and order forms are in the office. Hoody's are avaliable for pre order and take about two weeks to arrive.
Muffins/Doughnuts
We had another fantastic show of support for our muffins for moms and doughnuts for dads this month. We appreciate all of those who took the time to come and support their children. Also all of those who donated books to this wonderful program we really appreciate your help with this.
Accelerated Reading Assembly
We will be having our first AR assembly on Wednesday, November 3rd. Please encourage your students to read the marked AR books in the library and take the quizzes on them. We are so excited about this new program and hope to enstill a love of reading in our children that will last them a lifetime.

Plese remember to use Box tops marketplace for all of your online holiday shopping. This is a great way for us to earn money for our school while shopping for things we already need. Log on to www.btfe.com to get started. Also please continue to cut your box tops and send them to school with your children.

McDonalds Fundraiser
Please come out and support our McDonald's fundraiser. This is one of our most successful fundraisers of the year. It will be held on October 18th from 6:00 until 8:00. Come in and see your teachers working at Mc Donalds!! All of this years money will go towards technology items that are needed at the school.
Huge Success!!
Thanks so much to all of you who participated in our first Dads and Doughnuts day. It was a huge success. We hope all who attended had a great time and enjoyed the doughnuts. Don't forget next month is muffins for moms!
Hearing and Vision Screening
Hearing and Vision Screening will be on Oct 5th in the gym from 8:30 to 12:00. Anyone who would like to volunteer please contact us we would love your help!!

Reflections
Our reflections theme this year is "Together We Can" Entries are due to the teachers by Nov 1st. Students may pick up an entry form and rules packet in the office starting today. Last year a student from North Elem went on to compete in the state competition!!
T-Shirts
T-Shirts will be avaliable for sale throughout the school year. If you are not able to get one right now you may pick up an order form in the office for one anytime. The children are encouraged to wear them on Fridays for school spirit day and will receive a polar pride ticket each time they wear them.
Fall Carnival
Our annual fall carnival will he held on Oct 12th, from 5:00 to 8:00. Stay tunned for more information
Monthly PTA Meetings
This year monthly meetings will be held the second Tuesday of each month. Any member is invited and encouraged to attend. Help us make the best decisions for your children. If you would like to volunteer please contact a member of the Executive Board. We are always looking for volunteers and love the help.
Membership Drive
Our membership drive will be during the month of September. Watch for info to come home with your student. We hope to increase our membership by 10% this year. We need your help to accomplish our goal.

Back to School Night will be Aug 17th in the gym. Please join us and hear about all that we accomplished last year and hope to accomplish this year.
Movie Tickets
Summer Movie tickets will still be avaliable after school is out. You can call Beth Ann at 691-2645 to purchase them. They are $20 and run from June through mid August.
Field Day
Field day this year will be May 26th, from 9:30 to 1:30. It will be a traditional field day with the kids competing in challenges and engaging in a lot of fun outdoor activities. Please send your children to school with sunscreen and good running shoes. We will provide snacks and water. It will be a great day. Thanks to all those who have voluntered to help, we really appreciate you.
Yearbooks Are Here!!
Yearbooks will be for sale every Wednesday in May from 1:30 until 2:30, and on Field Day. They are $15. You may also send a check with the money to the school with your child's name on the envelope.
Dairy Queen Fundraiser
We will be doing a fundraiser with Dairy Queen on Friday, May 7, 2010 from 5:00 until 10:00. All dine in and drive thru sales will benefit our school. This will be used to help with a new playground for the 3rd, 4th and 5th graders.

Arts Night will be held on April 7th. Please mark this on your calenders and watch for more information to come.
Yearbooks
As of January 1, 2010, the price of a yearbook will be raised to $15.
Holiday Food Drive
North will be holding a food drive for the Iron County Care and Share from November 30th until December 16th. There will be donation boxes in each of the classrooms. Please send your non perishable food items with your children to school. The class that collects the most food will win a class party.
PTA Meetings
We would like to invite ALL members of the PTA to join us at our board meetings. They are held on the 1st Wednesday of each month at 4:00 in the school library.
